ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hello, my name is Rose Dalrymple. I took my first photography class in high school where I attended California School of the Arts. After high school I pursued a degree in marine biology where I became SCUBA certified. My dive instructor gifted me one of his old underwater camera setups which opened my eyes to the world of underwater photography. I set out to explore my home turf of Santa Cruz and Monterey with my new camera where I fell in love with underwater video and photography. Flash forward and I am now using my background in marine research to integrate underwater photography into the world of conservation science. I believe that underwater photography can help make marine research more accessible and impactful. I intend to continue using my background in photography and research to educate and promote conservation.
